Are Your Clothes Making You Infertile?

Michael Scott: We think a lot alike [Dwight]. Sometimes you will think something and I will say what you’re thinking.

Dwight Schrute: OK, what am I thinking right now?

Michael Scott: Umm, nacho chips.

Dwight Schrute: No. . . How skin is the largest organ of the body.

Even thought that might sound weird Dwight is right, the skin the the largest organ of the body. Our clothes touch our biggest organ all day long. When our clothes contains plastic materials such as polyester or spandex, some of those microplastics seep into our skin. This process is quicked and amplified when the body is heated or sweating. This occurance is particuraly dangerous around the more sensitive part of the body. So while 100% cotton socks might not seem particurally important, it would be worth looking into purchasing 100% underwear and pajamas. Additionally, underwear containing plastic is usually tighter around the testicles, which may pose a risk to sperm health and other reproductive harm.
